Creating a Commission Change
Upon selecting the commission changes icon, you will be taken to a list of all commission changes for that offer. You can easily switch between offers with the drop down menu at the top right of the page. To add a change, select the "Add Change" link in the bottom of the actions column. You will then be taken to the creating a new commission change page:
Configuring a New Commission Change
First, choose the affiliate(s) you would like this change to effect. If desired, you may also choose a customer country. To select more than one country, hold down the "ctrl" key.
You will then choose the type of Commission Change:
- Standard change - Any normal, regular commission change.
- Disable the commission - Used to turn off the commission for these settings.
- Temporary change - Used to setup a temporary commission change, based on a time period. For more information on creating a temporary commission change, please see the Temporary Commissions section below.
- Tiered commission - Used to set up tiers, increasing the commission based on the number of signups from the affiliate.
- Recurring change - This is used to set up a temporary commission that occurs more than once.
On the next page, you can enter your desired commission changes. There is also a quick summary of all the setting you have just selected. Standard Commission changes appear as follows:
- View - Payout Amount (in $) for each Page View.
- Unique - Payout Amount (in $) for each Unique Visitor
- Qual - Payout Amount for Qualified Hits
- $ Sale - Payout Amount for Customer Sale
- $ Continuity - Payout Amount for Customer Continuity
- % Sale - Payout Percentage for Customer Sale
- % Continuity - Payout Percentage for Customer Continuity
- CPM - Payout Amount per 1,000 Impressions
Leaving a field blank will set it as 0.
Note: Make sure to note your payment changes. This way if you believe an affiliate is being paid disproportionately, you will be able to check your notes to see if you have set up a special commission.
Temporary Commissions
If you would like to set up a Temporary Commission Change for a commission, go to the Offers Admin, click the Commission changes icon, and click "Add Change". On the next page, select "Temporary Change" from the Change Type drop-down menu. Once you have done this, set the affiliate(s) and country(s) you would like to include in this change, and click Save Commission Change.
On the next page, you will be able to define when you want this temporary change to begin and end. Input when you want your change to start in the "Start Time" box, and when you want it to end in the "End Time" box. When you have defined that, you can fill in the details of your commission change and click Save. Offerit allows you to make multiple temporary commission changes, so if you would like to create another temporary commission change, just follow the above steps again.
Configuring Your Temporary Commission Change
Tiered Commissions
To add a Tiered Commission change, go to the Offers Admin, click the Commission changes icon, and click "Add Change". On the next page, choose "Tiered Commission" from the Change Type drop-down menu. Set any other limitations you want, then click Save Commission Change. On the next page, configure your desired default commission changes and click Save.
This will then bring up a separate set of commission changes, where you will be able to add another tier of commissions. This way, you will be able to give affiliates higher or lower commissions based on how many customers are referred by those affiliates.
Configuring Tiered Commissions
To configure this, use the "Start on Sale" box to determine when you want the default commission to change for affiliates. For example, you can set it to change commission amounts after they refer 100 customers by inputting "100" in the "Start on Sale" box and configuring the rest of the corresponding commission amounts.
You can also set a time period for your tiers to reset back to the default by using the drop-down menu under "Reset". The "Raise" drop-down menu determines when the affiliate's pay raise will go into effect after they hit the amount of sales you previously specified; you will be able to choose between "Next Day," "Next Period," "Next Sale," and "Entire Period." When you are done configuring your new Commission Tier, click Add to add your new payment change. You can add as many new Commission Tiers as you like by repeating the steps detailed above.
Editing Commission Changes
Editing a commission change will not immediately affect an affiliate's payment for the commission to which you are applying the change. Offerit will simply set the original commission change to end, while creating a new commission change with the edited details in its place. For every edit that has been made to a commission, a new commission change will be created in its place with updated details. This allows Offerit to keep an accurate historical track of commission change records.
Precedence
You can control the precedence of your commission changes applied to an affiliate. To change the order of your commission changes, click the the "Commission Changes" icon next to the offer you would like to edit.
On the next page, you can use the Up and Down arrows to change the order of your commission changes. The commission change with the highest precedence (first in the list of your changes) will always be the change that is applied to your affiliate's commission -- this allows you to offer special commissions to certain affiliates by giving a special commission change higher precedence than the standard commission change(s).
