What is a Commission?
A commission determines how affiliates get paid, as well as how much they get paid. The commission owner may offer several different commissions that may be based on customer sales, continuity, unique views, raw views, etc.
Commissions in Offerit
Each Commission can payout on one or more different events, including unique views, raw views, sales, continuity, or CPM. When one of these events occurs, the affiliate may be paid a fixed or income percent-based fee, which is determined by the commission owner. It is also possible to share a portion of total revenue with affiliates.
Pay Per Commissions
A Pay Per commission only pays Affiliates if they send traffic that results in a Raw View, a Unique View, a Sale, or Continuity. There are several types of Pay Per commissions:
- Pay Per Sale Commissions -- Pays the affiliate a fixed rate for every customer sale.
- Pay Per View Commissions -- Pays the affiliate a fixed rate for every page view. The admin may qualify which types of page views payout.
- CPM -- Pays the affiliate a fixed rate for every 1000 impressions are displayed to visitors.
You may also create a hybrid Pay Per commission that uses several of the above criteria to better suit your needs.
Pay Per Click
A Pay Per Click commission pays affiliates for referring raw and unique views.
To set up a Pay Per Click commission, go to the Commissions Admin, click the Create a New Disabled Commission link, give the commission a name and a short name, and select Standard Commission from the Commission Type drop-down, and click Add Commission.
Once you have added your new disabled commission, click Edit Commission Details to make specific changes to your commission. From here, you can use the checkboxes to change how the commission works, such as deducting for chargebacks, credits, and voids, as well as hiding certain features.
When you have specified this, select what landing pages you want these changes to affect by using the drop-down menu under Landing Pages In This Commission and click the Add button to set these changes in effect.
In the Default Payouts section, click the Edit icon to fill in the View or Unq fields to set the payout for Raw Views and Unique Views, respectively.
Once you have configured these options to your liking, return to the main Commissions Admin page and enable your new commission by clicking the green arrow in the Actions column.
Pay Per Sale
A Pay Per Sale commission pays affiliates for purchases made by visitors they referred.
To set up a Pay Per Sale commission, go to the Commissions Admin, click the Create a New Disabled Commission icon, give the commission a name and a short name, select Standard Commission from the Commission Type drop-down menu, and click Add Commission. In the Commission Options section you can use the checkboxes to further configure the commission.
Select the landing pages to put in the commission. In the Commission Default Payouts section, click the Edit icon and fill in the $ Sale, and $ Continuity to pay affiliates this amount for each sale or continuity.
A Revenue Sharing Commission (or RevShare) shares offer revenue with the affiliate who originally referred the visitor. In Offerit, the amount shared (for example, 60%) is the amount of revenue the affiliate will receive.
To set up a RevShare, go to the Commissions Admin, click the Create a New Disabled Commission icon, give the commission a name and give a short name, and select Standard Commission from the Commission Type drop-down. Once this has been done, click Add commission to create your RevShare.
Once you have done that, go back to the Commission List and click the Edit Commission Details icon. In the Edit Commission page, select the landing pages that you want to use the commission. In the Commission Default Payouts section, click the edit button and fill in the % Join, % Continuity, and % Dialer fields with the amount of revenue you would like to share with the affiliate for each of these options.
Once you have configured your RevShare commission to your liking, return to the main Commissions Admin page and enable your commission by clicking the green arrow.
Affiliate Referral Commissions
An Affiliate Referral Commission compensates affiliates for referring other affiliates. Offerit gives you the option to pay the referring affiliate either a fixed referral fee or a percentage of the new affiliate's earnings.
